His resume includes 20 years as the Director of Government Relations and Public Policy for US West Communications. During that time he took a four-year leave of absence to serve as Special Assistant, Legislative Director and Senior Policy Advisor for former Arizona Governor Fife Symington.

Currently he is the owner of The Aarons Company, a public policy consulting firm with a diverse range of functions and clients, including a portfolio of corporate and trade association clients for whom he lobbies and provides other public policy services before the Arizona State Legislature, other states and the U.S. Congress.

Aarons also facilitates seminars on a multitude of topics from public policy to business management. He has assisted corporations and trade associations in the creation of their strategic plans, and has moderated these events. He carries the title of Senior Fellow for Americans for Tax Reform and Adjunct Fellow for the Progress and Freedom Foundation.

A frequent lecturer in political science at the University of Phoenix and Arizona State University, Aarons has also been an Adjunct Professor in Arizona State University's Political Science Department. He is a faculty member of the Arlington, Virginia based Leadership Institute.
