Kenergy Challenges CPS Ruling That It Violated Renewable Energy Policy | New

Kenergy Corp., a rural electricity cooperative, challenged findings by the state Civil Service Commission that it improperly limited financial benefits to customers who generate solar power.

The dispute between Kenergy and the PSC stems from the cooperative’s “net metering program”, which allows customers who produce renewable energy to resell it primarily into the electricity grid. In Kenergy’s program, the cooperative offers its qualified members credits on their electricity bills.
