SHEFFIELD: Biden’s dizzying energy policy has even climate warriors scratching their heads

You would think that after hitting a national gasoline price of $5 a gallon and gutting domestic oil and gas producers, America’s environmental extremists would be thrilled and emboldened. But President Joe Biden’s energy policy is so inconsistent that even Green New Deal socialists are frustrated, according to Politico report Zack Colman.

“Climate advocates who applauded President Joe Biden’s arrival in the White House last year are preparing to abandon Washington,” Colman writes. “Instead, environmentalists and many of their Democratic allies are beginning to focus on state capitals as places to lobby for action on climate change – returning to a strategy they have employed with some success. in the days of Trump.”

Green activists are apparently shocked and angry at their failure to secure massive grants and payments from the Bill Build Back Better. The firewall against that plan was Democratic Coal State Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia. (RELATED: SHEFFIELD: The left wants to inject awakening into another key institution)

Why should these activists be surprised that a moderate Democrat is reluctant to decimate his own voters? It’s called arrogance in the extreme.

The destructive energy goals of the Biden administration are not even subtle. Mark Mazur, who left the Treasury Department in September, said the quiet part out loud, as Bloomberg reported: “We don’t want lower prices for fossil fuel buyers. We prefer higher prices,” he said of potential gas tax exemptions and how that “undermines the administration’s climate change goals.”

The Biden team is looking for ways to hurt American oil and gas producers while simultaneously pleading with foreign despots in countries like Venezuela and Saudi Arabia for more carbon-based oil and gas. Biden’s doublespeak is frustrating to both sides of the national energy debate.

And during his recent European trip to NATO, Biden denounced his favorite scapegoat for his own failed domestic policies: Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The reason gas prices are up is because of Russia, Russia Russia,” Biden told a NATO summit press conference, where he again called for an exemption. petrol tax and a cap on Russian oil prices. It’s no wonder domestic anti-oil agitators are frustrated if Biden portrays himself as a hobbled actor whose fate is dictated by a foreign despot.

Biden completely ignores his team’s more than a year of botched policymaking before the Ukrainian invasion, from the lifting of sanctions on the NordStream 2 gas pipeline at the cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline and refuse oil and gas drilling permits. NASDAQ reported how gas prices were already rising before the invasion.

The Washington Post acknowledged “Americans aren’t really buying ‘Putin’s price hike’.” It’s no wonder Biden’s approval ratings are plummeting.

Meanwhile, in Biden’s America Last campaign, Reuters reported that rather than selling those barrels to U.S. consumers, “more than 5 million barrels of oil that was part of a historic release from U.S. emergency reserves to lower domestic fuel prices was exported to the United States. Europe and Asia last month”.

Environmental activists are also upset by a recent Supreme Court ruling cracking down on the Environmental Protection Agency’s checks and balances violations over greenhouse gas regulations. Even the Greenies know Biden’s team needs to work on their skills.
