Yankees-Rangers postponed Friday: ticket policy, how to redeem (5/6/22)

The threat of rain forced the Yankees to postpone their game with Rangers at Yankee Stadium on Friday.

The match will be a single admission doubleheader beginning at 1:35 p.m. Sunday.

Fans who had purchased tickets for Sunday’s originally scheduled game can attend the doubleheader, as can fans who are still buying tickets for this one.

Fans with tickets to Friday’s postponed game can exchange them for tickets to a similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium.

Here is the Yankees’ full statement on Friday’s postponement:

The match will be composed as the second match of a single entry doubleheader on Sunday, May 8. Game 1 will begin as originally scheduled at 1:35 p.m. Game 2 will begin approximately 30 minutes after Game 1 ends.

Tickets for tonight’s match (Friday May 6) will not be valid for the single-entry doubleheader on Sunday May 8.

On Sunday, all doors to Yankee Stadium will be open to fans with tickets valid at noon.

Please note that distribution of tonight’s “Star Wars Night Yankees Yoda Bobblehead” promotional item (for the first 18,000 guests) has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 25 at 7:05 p.m., when the Yankees take on the Baltimore Orioles.

Fans holding paid tickets to tonight’s game (Friday, May 6) can redeem them for tickets to a similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) – including the postponed promotional date of May 25 – as described in the Yankees Rain Control Policy, which can be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck.

Game 1 of Sunday’s doubleheader against Texas will be broadcast by Prime Video, and Game 2 will be broadcast by YES Network.

Complimentary tickets (COMP) and tickets obtained through the Commissioner’s Initiative for Children for tonight’s match (Friday May 6) are not valid for future matches. COMP tickets or equivalent tickets have no cash value and have no additional benefit that might be offered to tickets with a dollar value.
